At the Huntsville Center for Sight, our surgeons and staff are committed to providing a comforting, assuring LASIK surgery experience. Mission Statement

Conceived in 1983, the Huntsville Center for Sight has made available to residents of North Alabama and Southern Tennessee comprehensive eye care utilizing the most advanced medical and surgical techniques available in the world today. Dr. Craig Thorstad and Ret. Col. Dr. Walter Hubickey are permanent Board Certified Cataract and Refractive Surgeons of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.

Our primary services include:

• Advanced Cataract Surgery using state of the art multifocal and refractive intraocular lens technology specifically to restore a full range of vision from near to far. In doing so, it is the intent of advanced cataract surgery to completely eliminate the need for glasses and/or contact lenses whenever possible. Huntsville Center for Sight uses the newest medications to make sure your surgery and recovery go as smoothly as possible.
• Advanced Laser Vision Correction to restore one’s optimal vision. To achieve these goals, Huntsville Center for Sight uses the most advanced laser equipment in order to customize the procedure to the needs of every individual. We also believe individualized patient education is most important. Our philosophy is to comprehensively educate each patient to all potential risks and complications and to perform the safest techniques presently available.

Complete eye examinations are performed daily. Medical treatment for glaucoma, diabetes, corneal disease and retinal disease is also available. We accept all insurance plans and, if necessary, we will assist or direct the uninsured in locating financial assistance. Healthy eyes and healthy vision is more than a goal. It is our MISSION!

Seminars

In our ongoing efforts to educate prospective patients, Dr. Craig Thorstad and Dr. Walter Hubickey offer LASIK and cataract surgery seminars. By attending our free seminars, prospective patients can meet each doctor, become better educated about eyecare options, and even catch a glimpse into an actual LASIK procedure being performed. In addition, cataract patients can sign up for a free screening at the seminar.
